The Modern Girl's Guide to Going Natural By Jane Buckingham

In the Bedroom: Make your bedroom a truly restful retreat

These days, there's nowhere you need to feel more natural, at peace and relaxed than in your own bedroom. And it's getting even easier to make your ultimate place of rest feel a little bit more Zen. One inexpensive way is to add lots of greenery. Bamboo plants and Peace Lilies will not only look great but are two of the top 10 air-purifying Feng Shui plants recommended by experts to help clear the air and fill it with oxygen. And living in Los Angeles, a city known for its smog and poor air quality, that's pretty important to me. In fact, I'd even recommend getting an air purifier for the bedroom to make it toxin and pollutant free. It's a small change, but it really does work, and if you buy one with a UV light, you will get the added benefit of killing bacteria and viruses to lessen your chances of getting sick.

Now to add ambience and keep it natural at the same time, I use only 100% beeswax candles that are unscented or candles made out of soy. Here's one trick I've found: there's actually a candle that when you burn it, the wax turns into a massage oil! (The candles are made with natural cosmetic-grade waxes, plant extracts and massage oil.) The candle burns but the wax/oil never gets too hot.... so, after lighting the candles you can ask your significant other to you give you a relaxing massage.
